"FOR GOOD" GIVING STRATEGIES INFO SESSION
Wednesday March 25th, at 6:30pm

In the Library-Fireside Room, FLC member, “For Good” Co-Chair, and Thrivent rep Scott DeGraff will lead an information session on giving mechanisms and tax-efficient giving strategies, including retirement distributions, stock gifts, and more. No RSVP required: all are welcome.

About "For Good" Campaign
Excitement for eliminating Farmington Lutheran's mortgage debt continues to build. As we near "For Good" Sunday on April 19th, watch for voices and videos sharing what Farmington Lutheran means to them, and how ministry momentum continues to grow at FLC.  By eliminating tens of thousands of dollars in interest, and repurposing over $120k in the annual budget committed to mortgage payments, we can dream big about how we can share God's amazing love in our church, community, and beyond.

BREWED THEOLOGY TONIGHT
Tuesday, March 24th, at 7pm, at the Longbranch

Come earlier for food and some fellowship. Our conversation starts at 7pm. Pastor Ben here, and tonight we're talking about "War: 'Just' and 'Christian." I keep looking to lighter topics, but the world continues to give as it does (as Jesus says in John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives."). While the current conflict in Iran itself is not the sole subject of debate, the Christian language surrounding justification for military action certainly is. Looking forward to talking this evening!

Council President

What are your favorite things about Farmington Lutheran?
You.

Tell us about your family/your dear ones.
Married to Paul. Two sons: Lucas, who lives in Ely, and Cole, who lives in Minneapolis. I am praying for daughters-in-law and grandchildren.

What is your dream vacation?
Probably eating my way through Italy while trying a different wine with every meal. And I'd really like to go to Sardinia.

Describe your hobbies or how you like to spend free time.
I like to read – mostly historical fiction and anything by William Kent Krueger. And I love to cook, especially trying out new recipes on unsuspecting guests.

What is/was your profession?
I do lots of caretaking for three elderly parents who live in Rochester. And I volunteer for various things at FLC and in the community. I've done lots of things, but spent the bulk of my career working in communications. I've been retired since 2021.

What is your favorite holiday? Why?
Groundhog Day, because no one expects me to do anything.

YOU’VE BEEN FLOCKED! FLAMINGO FUNDRAISER
Our youth are headed to Camp Wapo & Wilderness Canoe Base this summer and we need YOUR help to get them there! Here’s how it works:

  • Nominate a friend or neighbor

  • Donate what you’d like ($30 minimum)

  • Send us their address

  •  We “flock” their yard with flamingos

  • We come back and clean it all up

  • It’s fun. It’s pink. It’s for a great cause.

We can’t wait to get started — who should we flock first?!

MN FOODSHARE CAMPAIGN
Now through April 6, 2026
It’s that time of year again for the MN Foodshare March Campaign. This is an important campaign for our local food shelf, as the more the Farmington Food Shelf can collect in food and monetary donations, the more grant money 360 Communities will receive from MNFoodShare.
Donations directly to Farmington Food Shelf may be dropped off on Mondays and Thursdays from 11-5:30pm. The address is 510 Walnut St., south side of the building, door #9.  Monetary gifts are always welcome and checks should be made out to the Farmington Food Shelf.
Farmington Food Shelf’s visit numbers continue to rise, and your support is most appreciated.

Sunday, May 31 at Second Worship
