WHAT ARE MILESTONE EVENTS?

Milestones are faith based events in a child's life and are one way we at FLC help to nurture faith. We are trying to live out the promise made at baptism by raising up the children surrounded by caring youth and adults, modeling faith practices, teaching them how to pray, and to share God's love with others.

We focus on the Four Keys to help nurture faith: Caring Conversations, Devotions, Service, and Rituals/Traditions.

Community Communion Workshop

All Ages are Invited,

Are you- or is someone you know- interested in beginning to receive Holy Communion? Make plans to attend the Community Communion Workshop at Farmington Lutheran. We’ll learn more about the history and meaning behind the practice of communion and get ready to receive it for the first time. All ages are welcome! If you have questions about whether you or someone you know is ready for communion, please ask any of the pastors.

Communion Service will be held on April 2 (Maundy Thursday).

Kindergarten Milestone

August 2026

Prepare for the start of Kindergarten and learn how God will be with them, even at school. Still need to sign up? Email Dawn at Dawn@farmingtonlutheran.com to register!

1st Grade Lord’s Prayer Milestone

1st graders and their families come together for a prayer milestone. This gave families a time to connect with each other and develop faith practices that can be used at church, home, and in their daily lives. We want to equip parents (and children) with the knowledge of how and when to pray. We hope that all children will learn that they have a direct relationship with God and Jesus through prayer & that prayer becomes a normal part of a family’s daily routine and tradition for passing on faith. After class the 1st graders lead the Lord’s Prayer during worship.

2nd Grade Prayer Milestone

3rd Grade Bible Milestone

September 2026

3rd graders or any 3rd through 5th graders who are new to FLC, get together enjoy a special Bible milestone. The children will receive and learn about their new Bible. Families will open the good book together and learn how to read and find scripture at home. The Spark Bibles are designed specifically for students in grades 2-5.

4th Grade Apostles'
Creed Milestone

Fourth graders will discuss the following things: What is Jesus like? What is God like? What is the Spirit like? We want to help support your faith journey in all stages. We study the Apostles' Creed during this special 4th grade milestone.
