TWO SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICES
Beginning this Sunday, September 6
FLC will transition back to two Sunday morning worship services this coming Sunday, September 6. Sunday morning worship will be at 8:30am and 10:30am, with fellowship time between worship services.
Fall programming is also getting underway! Youth programming kicks off tonight, and children’s and music programming begins in a couple of weeks. Scroll down for more information and registration links!
SCAM EMAIL ALERT
We’re seeing an increase again in scam emails that appear to come from FLC staff or council members. These emails may use the same name and even a very similar email address to make them look legitimate.
Please remember: FLC staff and council members will NEVER ask you to send money, purchase gift cards, or provide financial information by email.
If you receive an email that seems unusual or you’re unsure whether it’s really from someone at FLC, please call the church office to verify before responding or taking any action.
PRECON STARTS TONIGHT!
Wednesdays, 4-5:15pm, Suppers on the 2nd, 5:30-6:30pm
A few years ago Pastors, Staff, and Children’s Team agreed that the transition from Sunday/Wednesday School to Confirmation was a big shift – in addition to so many big changes happening at the same time in students’ academic and extra-curricular lives. So! We designed a year of Christian faith formation specifically for 6th Graders to recognize, soften, and bridge these transitions.
CONFIRMATION STARTS TONIGHT! And it’s Parent Night!
Wednesdays, 6:30-8:00pm
Confirmation prepares students to profess and claim for themselves faith and promises made at their baptism (probably, but not always, by parents and sponsors). This “confirming” or “affirming” of baptism and faith is done at the service of Affirmation of Baptism. Confirmation follows a three-year cycle based on promises “to teach the Lord’s Prayer, the Creed, and the Ten Commandments.” (ELW, p.228)
FLCTIME STARTS SEPTEMBER 13TH
FLC offers two different formats to fit your family's schedule! Children and youth can participate either on Sunday mornings between worship services or on Wednesday evenings.
For our youngest learners, Pre-K programming is offered on Sunday mornings in a classroom setting. On Wednesday evenings, Pre-K children are invited to participate in Little Lambs, a parent-and-child program where caring adults attend and learn alongside their children.
Sundays: 9:30 - 10:15am OR
Wednesdays: 5:30 - 6:30pm
TRUNK OR TREAT- A WEEK EARLY!
Friday, October 23 from 5:30-7:00pm
New this year: Trunk or Treat is happening one week earlier! Since Halloween falls on a Saturday, we wanted to spread out the fun and give families an extra week of celebrating. Everyone is invited to join us for an evening full of community and fun!

SATURDAY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The Farmington Food Shelf needs more volunteers to help with Saturday rescue pick-up. The rescue food picked up at Target is a vital part of the fresh produce, bakery, and non-perishable items we offer weekly to the many families we serve. Volunteers must have a truck, van, or very large SUV and the ability to lift 45 lbs. repeatedly. We are asking for a commitment of one Saturday per month. Training is provided. Often, couples or a parent and an older child partner to do the pickup. Please email Karen Brownawell at rhpositive03@yahoo.com with questions and/or your interest.
What a Farmington food shelf rescue driver opportunity looks like:
Sign up monthly for the Saturday you are available
Arrive with your vehicle at the Target on Pilot Knob Road at 7am on your Saturday
Load boxes of produce, deli, bread, and other groceries into your vehicle
Deliver the boxes to the Farmington Food Shelf (510 Walnut Street) by 7:40am
Unload boxes, weigh & record temps
Help with breaking down boxes, gathering trash and composting, as needed
Usually done by 8:30-8:45am
MUSIC OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL AGES
The Music Ministry at FLC is vibrant part of our congregation, providing contemporary and traditional music during our worship services throughout the year. There are opportunities for all ages: vocal and bell choirs, contemporary praise bands, brass ensembles, and instrumental or vocal solos. Being a part of a music ensemble is a great way to meet people, connect spiritually through fellowship, and praise God!
